Make a Statement

In this image some of the things that I have included are a chart of the number of dropouts by race/ethnicity, an image of a graduating student, and an image demonstrating some of the careers students would want to pursue in. This image I created is to show the effects of students that today more and more students are dropping out of school. With the lack of education one will never be able to pursue in the careers they wish to do. So I created a collage with the statement, “Stay in School” meaning stay in school, get an education and pursue in your career. The purpose of this assignment is to raise consciousness or cause critical conversation about human rights issue.

  1. Who is your target audience? (global, Americans, neighborhood community, TBA community, etc.)
  2. What do you want your audience to do (action) or know?
My target audience is to all the students and teenagers of high school and college. The intention of this image is to show that more and more students today in America are dropping out of school. This image is to raise consciousness for the audience about their future. I want the audience to know that with the lack of education one can never be able to pursue in their career and be satisfied with themselves. I believe that one can never have too much education; everyday there’s something new to add on to the history education.
  3. Why is this topic important to you?
  4. Do you think you were successful in getting your point across? Why or why not?
This topic is important to me because it tells me that I have to continue to work hard and stay focus. The image that I created with the statement “Stay in School” I believe its statement would be successful in getting my point across because it's clear and understandable. With the image of the graph included it clearly explains my point.
  5. Include the URL of where you got your image from.
