Blog 3 : Photo Analysis

The photograph I found was in Life magazins one hundered photos that changed the world. It is a photo of Buchenwald in 1949.It is a black and white still photo.There is a lady at the left side of the picter crying at dead bodys. The army men in the back of the picter are standing or walking. The bodys of the dead people are naked and in a pile.

I see a lady crying at the bodys that is there. Maby she sees someone she knows or she is just sick of what was going on. The concentration camp of all those dead Jews make me sick to my stomach , to think that a humen wanted to kill other innocent humans is inreal. It makes me think of all those dead slaves that came to America to be killed because they were different.

The photographer is Margaret Bourke-White he went with platton troops to liberate concentration camps. The army made German civilians walk threw the camps to see what there nation did with the Jews. Hitler killed over a million Jews men, women, and children in those camps. The camps had gas chambers that they killed the Jews in. These events that happened so long ago still affect this world today.

The photographer's intention was probley to show the world what was going on in Germany. She wanted the world to know that the dehumanizing of the Jews was real. Who every sees this photo would be disgested by the bodys. Other people reaction would probley make them want to find out more about the picter and help . Then who ever looks at this photo would tell other people about it and then the meida would tell the world.

Blog 3 Photo Analysis

Some of the things that I see in the image is to buildings with smoke coming out. The two buildings are around many other buildings. The image is arranged by it is taken from a distance so that the viewer can capture the full effect on what has taken place. You can not see any people in the picture. The objects that I see are bulidings. The image is candid.

I see the two towers going up and smoke. Also I can see the fire starting to over whlem the buildings. Also you can see the airplanes crashing into the building.

Some of the things that i know about the event is that 4 planes were hijacked from logan airport and to were sent into the towers one was sent into the pentagon and the other crashed in PA before arriving at its destination.

The photographers intention was to let you see from a distance what was unfoldingas the two towers were hit. By taking the picture from a distance the photographer was able to show the towers and everything around it. I think when other people see the image they would react by it was a tagedy that should have never took place many innocent people lost their lifes for no reason. I think that september 11 will go down history. And it goes to show you never take life for granted because you never know when its going to end. Also after september 11 security tightened up and now the country is more aware so they can prevent this type of thing for ever happening again.

A)The class title (Media that Matters Seminar : Transformation - Moving Images and Moving Forward) basically means that media changes things. Media impacts the whole world and whoever controls it the most has a good source of power. Using images in media depicts what point or message someone or some group is trying to make known. The people who use media expose to whoever sees it what they see, believe, what they know, and or what they want people to know, and they want to move forward in life promoting what they know or believe.
B)The media I planned to bring to class was in the form of music. It was a rap cd by Tupac Shakur. It's main idea was about revolution. The message was that he was loyal to the type of life he was living because of what he's been through in his years of living.

The purpose of this blog is about the blogger Chuck Rose struggling with his painting. But over time as he practice and practice he became much better. As you can see in some of his paintings he compared his paintings from before to after.

The comments that the people gave him were about the great, awesome and beautiful paintings that he have created. Overall, the comments that the people gave him were all positives and encouraging to let him know that they love to see his work of painting.

The meaning of the title of this class is basically discorvering different forms of media. Last week I brought in a magazine advertisment for an acne treatment. The message of my advertisement was to inform and sell people their acne treatment, which supposedly clears up peoples acne.

The message is also trying to give is that if you were that nail polish your nails will be as pretty as they look in the image. They are trying to convince the audience that the product works.

Transformation - Moving Images and Moving Forward

The meaning of the title "Transformation - Moving Images and Moving Forward" is that it explains what we'll be focusing on this year as a class. We will focus on transforming images, making moving images, and "moving forward" which might mean we'll take image editing to the next level.

The type of media I brought to class was a beautiful, young woman, smoking a cigarette. The message this image gave me was that if you want to be cool, pretty, and fit in, then you should smoke. I also think that girl was bulimic. I don't know why, but she just had that bulimic, "I'm not perfect! URGHHH!!!!" look to her.
