A) From the reading…How do you know when an image is fake? Fiete cites 7 different ways to identify fake images. Explain 2 different techniques. There are many ways to be able to tell how an image is fake and they are.
Usually lines that don’t match up
Blurs
Colors differ
Objects may be lighter or darker
You might see it as a layer
lighting
B) In your opinion…Can you trust the images you see in the media? Why or why not?
In my opinion I do not think that people can trust images that we see in media because most of the time the stuff you see in magazines is usually makeup and you don’t see any pores or wrinkles in the girls face so you can really tell that is fake also in images of cars they try and make the car look better than it is because of the lighting in the picture.
C) In your opinion…when is photo manipulation “OK” and when is it “WRONG”? Explain ONE situation in which photo manipulation is acceptable, and ONE situation in which it is NOT.
One situation when photo manipulation is wrong is when you try to sell products to people and you know well that the product does not work but they edit the people in the picture and makes it look like it works.
I believe there is only really 1 situation when photo manipulation is right and it is when you trying to sensor something to hide it from the public or from kids or from propaganda
